It’s time.
Moreno, 22, batted .323/.377/.406 with a home run and 23 RBIs in 35 games with Buffalo, Toronto's Triple-A affiliate.
He was named to the 2021 All-Arizona Fall League team after batting .329/.410/.494 with a home run and 18 RBIs in 22 games.
Moreno is currently ranked No. 4 in the MLB Pipeline prospect rankings.
Earlier this week, Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins spoke glowingly about Moreno.
"Gabriel has been awesome. He's continued to improve," Atkins said. "He's in a really good spot and he's very much in the mix for us."
A need at catcher arose for the Blue Jays after Danny Jansen was placed on the 10-day IL with a metacarpal fracture on Tuesday.
Bringing Moreno into the fold gives the Blue Jays an electric catching duo, including Alejandro Kirk. Kirk has been on a tear this season, batting .322/.401/.477 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 48 games.
